Revolutionizing Workspaces: ZhongAn Headquarter Office

A harmonious blend of Oriental aesthetics and modern design by Tao Huang and Zhihong Li

The architects, Tao Huang and Zhihong Li, have broken away from traditional office designs to create a workspace that is forward-looking, free, open, and healthy. The design caters to both perceptual and rational needs, creating a poetic landscape in the air that triggers a comfortable feeling with focused attention and balance.

The office is situated in the golden section on the Bund, an international metropolis in Shanghai. The architects have skillfully introduced the grand river view into the interior, combining it with a design philosophy of 'less is more'. The result is a space that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional and efficient.

The office covers an area of 2600 square meters and is equipped with freely shared areas that provide opportunities for contacts and cooperation for different users. It also has private and independent venues that allow for focused thinking and improved work efficiency. The design is a harmonious rhythm of Oriental aesthetics, with the armchair inheriting the essence of Chinese traditional style.

The project began in April 2017 in the Bund Finance Center in Shanghai and was completed in February 2018. The pursuit of perfect details runs through the project, where the screen reveals the graceful style. The wall and the ground are plain and elegant, accompanied by the light and shadow changes, giving the space a pleasant scale and level.

This design was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019. The award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
